Tate and Levi Jacobson Commit to Taylor University
UPLAND, Ind. – Taylor University men's lacrosse head coach, Jared Nies, recently announced the first two signings in program history, twin brothers, Levi Jacobson and Tate Jacobson.
"I am very happy to have Tate and Levi commit to the Taylor University Lacrosse program," said Nies. "They will provide a solid foundation on and off the field for the team to build upon."
Levi and Tate are the sons of Jeff and Kristie Jacobson and hail from Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Levi has collected four varsity letters as a midfielder for the Homestead lacrosse team and was named to the 2017 Indiana High School Lacrosse Association All-Academic Team. Additionally, Levi is a member of the National Honors Society.
Levi has not decided on a major yet for when he begins at Taylor in the fall of 2018.
"I chose Taylor University because of the special opportunity to be a part of TU's first men's lacrosse team as a school sport," Jacobson commented.
Tate has earned four varsity letters as a defenseman for the Homestead lacrosse team, while adding several honors for his play on the field. In 2017, Tate was named Northern Indiana High School Lacrosse Conference Second-Team All-Defense, Homestead Defensive Player of the Year and All-Indiana Honorable Mention. Tate is also a member of the National Honors Society.
When Tate arrives on campus at Taylor for the 2018-2019 school year, he plans to major in pre-medicine.
"The combination of a beautiful community at Taylor University, also with an outstanding education, brought me to this university," Jacobson mentioned. "I am very excited to be a part of the new men's lacrosse program."
